Inbound

An AI receptionist that never puts anyone on hold

It answers on the first ring, works out what the caller needs, and either handles it or puts them through to the right person. Every call leaves a transcript.

What this is for

Calls are not missed because nobody was willing to answer. They are missed because everybody was already on another call, with a customer, or gone home at five. A receptionist that never queues means the caller states their business once, to something that can act on it, instead of leaving a voicemail nobody returns until Tuesday.

What it does on a call

  1. 01

    Answers and asks

It picks up on the first ring, gives the greeting you wrote, and asks what the caller needs before anything else happens.

  2. 02

    Handles the routine questions

Opening hours, where you are, what you charge, whether you cover a postcode. It answers from what you have given it and does not guess at what you have not.

  3. 03

    Books against your calendar

When the call is a booking, it reads your real diary mid-conversation, offers only slots that are genuinely free, and writes the appointment in before the caller hangs up.

  4. 04

Hands over what it should not answer

Anything outside its material goes to a person. Transferred live if somebody is free, or captured as a message with the caller's details and the reason they rang.

AI receptionist: common questions

Does it answer on a normal phone number?

Yes. You connect a phone number to the agent, and callers dial it like any other business line.

What happens when the agent cannot help?

You decide, per branch. A call can be handed to a person at any point: on a specific request, on a question the agent has no answer for, or straight away if that is what you want out of hours.

Do I get a record of what was said?

Every call produces a recording, a full transcript and an outcome describing how it ended. A call you were not present for is still reviewable afterwards.

Do I need a developer to set this up?

No. You build it in a drag-and-drop editor and test it in the browser: there is no code to write and no servers to run. You do need a phone number and a telephony account of your own to put the agent behind.

How is it billed?

Per minute of call time. You pay for the minutes your agents actually spend on calls rather than a flat monthly seat fee.
